BIVOUAC
A new EXPERIENCE
A Bivouac is usually used by mountaineers on difficult or long tours as a shelter for the night. Though used mostly pragmatic, I asked myself: Is there any way of making the stay and experience better and more memorable? In my opinion, yes! My bivouac generates its own energy with an integrated photovoltaic facade module to power the active air-circulation system and the small consumers inside. The whole bivouac can basically be suspended off a rockface and supported, all held by heavy duty anchors. That means it doesn’t need any concrete foundations. For a comfortable feeling, the complete interior is made of wood. There’s a small wardrobe, an eat – and chill area and the sleeping levels above. Enough light is provided by the big window that itself is a whole element of the facade. The outside look as well is truly special. Inspired by the Monte Rosa Hut it fits perfectly in the rough mountainous surrounding thanks to its crystal form that is derived from a dodecahedron. Thanks to the outer skin made of aluminium, the multi-layer wall construction is protected from the elements.
Ein Biwak am Berg dient primär als Unterkunft für Bergsteiger auf schwierigen oder langen Unternehmungen. Obwohl so pragmatisch in der Nutzung fragte ich mich, kann man ein Biwak so gestalten das der Aufenthalt und die damit verbundene Experience angenehmer wird und besser in Erinnerung bleibt? Meiner Meinung nach, Ja! Mein Biwak versorgt sich mittels PV-Anlage komplett autark mit Energie für die aktive Luftzirkulations-Anlage und um kleine Endverbraucher zu Betreiben. Eine Besonderheit ist auch, dass das Biwak völlig ohne Fundamente auskommt, denn es wird nur von Tragseilen und Stützen mittels Schwerlastankern verankert. Für den angenehmen Aufenthalt ist der komplette Innenraum aus Holz. Es gibt eine kleine Garderobe, einen Ess- und Aufenthaltsbereich sowie die Schlafebenen darüber. Licht kommt durch das große Fenster hinein, welches ein gesamtes Fassadenelement einnimmt. Auch das äußere Erscheinungsbild ist einzigartig. Inspiriert von der Monte Rosa Hütte passt es sich mit seiner kristallinen Form, die einem Dodekaeder entspringt, perfekt in eine oftmals sehr raue Felsumgebung ein. Durch die Aluminium-Außenhülle ist der mehrlagige Wandaufbau vor Wind und Wetter geschützt.
